Around the world over 3.4 million people die from water-borne diseases every year, Access to clean water is became a challenge. To provide access to clean water, we have two options;
- Creating an awareness on “Keeping the Local Water Supply as clean”
- Creating a simple, reliable way to clean the water.
The governments and NGO’s are spending resources on creating awareness on “Clean Water Supply”.
A recent innovation by Team of Scientists from Carnegie Mellon University in collaboration with “Water Is Life” an NGO introduced a “Drinkable Book” a Technologically Advanced Filter Paper which Filter and cleanse the polluted non drinkable water into Drinkable water.
Technology & Innovation:
The Paper is Coated with Silver Nano Particles, which kills the bacteria Cholera, E-Coli & Typhoid. Once water is passed through the filter, bacteria count is reduced by over 99.99%, making the filtered water comparable to tap water in the United States of America.

The paper costs only pennies to produce, making it by far the cheapest option on the market. Each filter is capable of giving someone up to 30 days worth of clean water. And each book is capable of providing someone with clean water for up to 4 years.
